TEGNA Design Tank asked for an animated infographic promoting and outlining safety tips and procedures regarding bicycle and traffic laws projected to be aired on local television news stations in the Denver area leading up to the event, “Bike to School Day”.

Bike to School Day is an event built on the momentum of National Bike Month. To participate in the event, children are encouraged to get moving in the morning and switch up their daily routine by riding their bikes to school instead of taking the ever-popular vehicle transportation. This event not only motivates children to move, but reduces carbon emissions produced by carpooling and busses.

Color & material

The color scheme is based on a deep space/deep sea scheme; heavily utilizing deep purples and blues with accents of “light” (bright) pops of color in orange and white. The colors represent the deep thought evoked by the script and the pops of light represent the spark of energy mentioned in the concept outline.

Materials include distorted shots of flashing lights at a concert as well as an overlay of ink/water footage provided by Jennifer Estridge.
